Happy Tuesday, y’all! Did anyone enjoy the SuperBowl? I’ll be honest, it was tough to watch. Luckily, I still enjoyed some good brisket, chips, and queso. Maybe next year we will see the Cowboys out there? A man can dream.

THE DIGEST
🏛 Weatherford City Council seeks to approve $196,000
Tonight, the Weatherford City Council will be meeting at 6 PM. The agenda looks pretty light. The only Regular Agenda Item being discussed is the approval of a $196,000 architectural design contract for a new Administrative Office Building at 118 W. Columbia Street to support Parks, Recreation, Special Events, Facility Maintenance, and Development Services.
The six-month design phase follows completed asbestos abatement and demolition, positioning the project for construction by early August. While we are unsure of the budget for this entire renovation, based on the architectural design costs, this project could end up costing multi-million dollars. We will learn more after the Council discusses.
🌮🎉 Pulido’s Kitchen & Cantina $500 GIVEAWAY
Pulido’s is now open in Willow Park! In fact, they are so excited about being open that they want to give back to the community. If you are going to be at tonight’s Aledo varsity girls basketball game, you have the chance to win $500 in gift cards. You can have a chance to win by leaving a comment on this post. Even if you cannot make the game, be sure to check out the new Pulido’s location!
🏠 98 unit housing project coming to Weatherford?
A long-stalled residential development along East 1st Street is moving forward, as the Planning and Zoning Commission considers approval of a 98-unit housing project known as Villas at Heritage Point. The proposal includes 89 single-family homes, nine townhomes, and five open space lots. Originally approved in 2006 but never fully built, the project is being revived by a new owner. The city will discuss at their zoning meeting tomorrow at 2:30.
COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT
What better way to show love this Valentine's Day than by adopting?

This Valentine’s Day (2/11-2/14), the Weatherford Animal Shelter is charging just $14 for adoptions. The adoption includes spay/neuter, a microchip, vaccinations and a new best friend for you and your family!
There really are so many amazing pups looking to be adopted. The Weatherford Animal Shelter has always done a wonderful job of caring for the animals in our community. I didn’t realize this until the other day, but did you know the Weatherford Animal Shelter also provides pet food for families in need?
They do amazing work, and I’m proud that the City of Weatherford cares so much about this shelter. Even if you are unable to adopt, the shelter would gladly accept volunteers. They need help from people who want walk dogs, play with the cats, or help with photography. You can call the Shelter directly to hear more.
